As part of my ongoing history project, I am checking hardcopy documents I have against online archives to try to notice when things I'm forced by circumstance to get rid of are available from some other source. I noticed web pointers to something called the Lagout Museum [1], which was a web site that had a lot of old computer documents, but in particular some Symbolics lisp machine documents. It's gone now, so I was getting 404s. But I found it on the Internet Archive's amazing Wayback Machine [2]. Sadly, it's a pain to browse because the historical artifacts [3] contain code that pops up a prompt for donations. So, always up to a challenge, I used my netsettlement git(hub) repo to host a browsable mirror of the directory structure (not the actual files) that does not have the pop-up menu problem. It's better explained in the README.md at https://github.com/netsettler/netsettlement/blob/main/symbolics/lagout_museum/ for more details. As part of my history project, I posted scans of source listings of the Knowledge-Based Editor (KBE) that I worked on while I was at MIT. https://github.com/netsettler/netsettlement/tree/main/kbe There is a README.md explaining about the project and the status of the files and their permitted use. In parallel, there's also an OCR'd version and a preliminary version of a headless port to SBCL done by Jeff Shrager. He was holding it until I got my sources up. Details on that coming soon. #KBE #KBEmacs #zmacs #KentsHistoryProject #KnowledgeBasedEditor #Lisp #SBCL #LispMachine #Maclisp #Zetalisp #RetroComputing #ComputerHistory

This port of the CL condition system to Jolt looks interesting. Haven't been through it in detail, but the write-up on it, at a quick glance, looks thorough. https://reddit.com/r/Clojure/comments/1wr299y/cl_conditions_and_restarts_in_jolt/ (I don't know what Jolt is either, but I guess a Clojure library or DSL. since it's on their subreddit.) EDIT: I see the Foralero package, which I did not look up because the name did not immediately suggest conditions, is probably the real source. I'm not a Clojure user so just stumbled into this by chance. https://github.com/IGJoshua/farolero #CommonLisp #lisp #ConditionHandling #ErrorHandling #ErrorSystem #clojure
