Where do I look for an AI-free software dev job? Are there boards specifically for these jobs?
I'm required to use AI in my current job. I was trying to wait until some things in my life made a job change less risky, but working against my values is destroying me.

"A developer frustrated by Adobe's cancellation fees used Anthropic's Opus 5.5 model and pure Rust to rewrite the entire Creative Cloud suite as open-source alternatives. The seven applications — PhotoCraft (Photoshop), VectorCraft (Illustrator), FilmCraft (Premiere Pro), EffectCraft (After Effects), LightCraft (Lightroom), DesignCraft (InDesign), and PdfCraft (Acrobat) — were built from scratch using clean-room reverse engineering without touching Adobe's original code. Within the first week, the GitHub repository garnered 24K stars.
The apps run natively on macOS, Windows, and Linux, with some capable of running in browsers via WebAssembly. Shortly after, the same team (ArtCraft) released three Microsoft Office clones: GridCraft (Excel), WordCraft (Word), and DeckCraft (PowerPoint). All three replicate the familiar UI structures — cell layouts, document editing, slide masters, animations — and are completely free, open-source, subscription-free, and written in Rust."

"Higher velocity = more good" is a misunderstanding premised on the idea that every piece of work on your Jira board is there because it adds value in some way.
Once you understand that the majority of developer tickets are actually negative-value, you will become enlightened.

Laravel Scalpel: A New Way to Detect Filesystem Intrusions in Laravel
Laravel applications can be compromised in ways that traditional code and dependency scanners may not catch. Laravel Scalpel takes a different approach by looking for evidence that a deployed application has already been modified or compromised.
It can detect:
• Rogue PHP files and suspicious extensions
• Obfuscated PHP and common backdoor patterns
• Malicious .htaccess and .user.ini changes
• Unexpected .env files and configuration issues
• Added, modified, or deleted files using SHA-256 baselines
• Changes that can be integrated into CI/CD security checks
It also supports JSON, SARIF, and GitHub Actions output, making it interesting for teams that want to incorporate filesystem integrity checks into their deployment pipelines.
One important limitation: Scalpel runs with the same permissions as the Laravel application, so it should be treated as a detection tool rather than a complete security or containment solution.
For Laravel teams, this is an interesting additional layer for detecting signs of post-deployment compromise.
