I hope Democrats are brainstorming ways to use their new majorities to enact common-sense reforms, such as requiring Elon Musk to pull every single American around Central Park in a carriage like he's a widdle horsie #USPol

Accountability is the exact word the US needs to show now Show the world that corruption on the highest level is not accepted and that there are consequences following these actions otherwise what is the point People in charge and powerful people should be held MORE accountable compared to the average person They have a lot more resources to make sure they don't fuck up yet often they go the other way No more #US #USPol

No word on what voters have been saying to soon-to-be-Speaker Jeffries. Jeffries on Wednesday dismissed the idea, however, that Democrats would impeach the president, as some liberals want to do. “I haven’t had a single member of the House Democratic Caucus talk to me about impeachment,” he said. “We’ve been relentlessly focused on affordability, and on accountability.” https://thehill.com/homenews/6198897-jeffries-ribs-johnson-midterms/ #election #politics #uspol #trump

There are a lot of things Dems should do for the next two years, but one of the most important is to pass bills that we need even if Trump vetoes them. Make the GOP publicly vote against what people actually want over and over, against the bills and against overriding Trump's vetoes. Then the Dem presidential candidate in 2028 can point at all the bills and say "Congress will pass all these laws again when I'm president, and I'll sign them all." And then they should do that too. #politics #USPol

Democrats had a historic victory across our country in a Blue Tsunami that was a crushing, generational rebuke to Trump and the entire corrupt GOP. This was possible because of you - your votes, your calls, your campaigning, your donations, your involvement in your community. You did this, you delivered it, you own it. Today, Rep. Robert Garcia, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, released the following statement after Democrats secured a majority in the U.S. House of Representatives. Following this win, Garcia will become Chairman of the House Oversight Committee, where he has vowed to take on the Trump Crime Family, corporate corruption, DHS and ICE abuses, and the cover-up of the Epstein files.
