I’m sitting on my floor crying because I don’t have hot water to shower, can’t buy my dogs dog food. I barely have groceries to feed my family. I know times are hard for a lot of people, and I know not everyone has something to spare. But if you’ve ever been in a position where you needed a little help, you understand how much being able to buy groceries can mean. I don’t usually ask for help, but this time I truly need it. My car is my work tool. With it I make deliveries, transport things, and earn the money with which I support my family. Some time ago it started giving me problems with the engine, and now I need to repair it as soon as possible. Without the car I cannot work, and without work I have no income. My family is my priority and I want to keep being able to give them the livelihood they need. That is why I decided to turn to you, because I truly need a hand and I have no other choice. We never thought we would have to write something like this, but right now we genuinely need help. We are a couple trying desperately to get back on our feet after a very difficult few months. For almost a month, we had no stable place to live and had to sleep outside. Eventually, we found work and believed that this would finally give us a chance to rebuild our lives and become financially stable again. Unfortunately, after our employment ended, we received significantly less money than we had been promised or had agreed upon before we started working. What we had left was barely enough to secure a temporary roof over our heads. Having somewhere safe to sleep means everything to us after what we experienced. But paying for that security has left us with almost nothing for everyday life. Right now, our most urgent need is food. We are reaching the point where we are genuinely worried about how we will afford groceries and other basic necessities. It is also getting colder, and most of the clothes we have are summer clothes. After going through a period without stable housing with only a limited amount of belongings, we simply do not have enough proper warm clothing for the colder weather. We need basic warm clothes, shoes and everyday essentials. We also have current living expenses that we urgently need to cover in order to keep the little stability we have managed to regain. Our biggest fear is losing that stability and ending up outside again. We are doing everything we can to change our situation. We are looking for work and trying to create independent sources of income using the professional and creative skills we already have. But rebuilding a source of income takes time. Food cannot wait. Cold weather cannot wait. Bills cannot wait. That is why we are asking for help now. We are not asking anyone to solve our entire life for us. We are simply asking for some breathing room while we work our way out of this situation. A Mother’s Plea: Help Us Keep Our Home ❤️ I never imagined that, despite being employed and working hard to provide for my family, I would one day be asking strangers for help. I am a mother from Slovenia, raising a little girl with my partner. Our family is facing overwhelming financial hardship, and I am desperately trying to protect our home and give my daughter a safe future. Our apartment has serious dampness and mould problems throughout the property. The damage has destroyed furniture, clothing, and personal belongings. Our bedroom is no longer usable, and our family is now sleeping in the living room. We turned to our insurance company, hoping for help, but our entire claim was rejected. We received no compensation. We urgently need to address the moisture problems and repair our home, but our financial situation has become critical. We are behind on mortgage and other loan payments, and I live with the fear that continued financial difficulties could eventually cost us our home. I have also received a warning that our electricity could be disconnected because of overdue bills. Our 14-year-old car, which I depend on to travel to work, has numerous faults that we cannot afford to repair. When our little daughter became ill, I had to stay home to care for her, reducing my income even further. The constant anxiety has become so overwhelming that I cry almost every day, frightened about how we will manage to get through another month. I am not asking for luxury.
