Astronomical Clock, Messina, Sicily, Italy “The astronomical clock of Messina is an astronomical clock in Messina, Sicily, southern Italy, constructed by the Ungerer Company of Strasbourg in 1933. It is built into the campanile of Messina Cathedral. The mechanism was designed by Frédéric Klinghammer, with the artistic design based on plans by Théodore Ungerer. Parts of the design are similar to the Strasbourg astronomical clock. The idea was to restore the ancient astronomical clock of the old medieval bell tower of the cathedral of Messina, destroyed in previous eras. It was commissioned by the Archbishop of Messina Angelo Paino to mark the reconstruction of the campanile after the 1908 Messina earthquake, perhaps on inspiration of Pope Pius XI, who gave him a functioning model of the Strasbourg clock.[1] – Wikipedia https://welchwrite.com/blog/2026/10/14/clock/ Follow My Photos on Pixelfed: https://pixelfed.social/p/douglaswelch/1016008152518662441 #clock #astronomy #architecture #history #messina #sicily #italy #photography #travel

→ Chronoeducation https://www.appliedchronobiology.com/chronoeducation “[I]t is a good idea to let teenagers sleep in accordance with their inner clock if you want them to thrive and make the most of school time. [T]he meeting time for 16-year-olds should be around 10 o’clock, and for 18-year-olds it should be moved to around 11 o’clock. However, in school and secondary education, the introduction of meeting times later than 8 am is a controversial topic.” #sleep #clock #school #teenagers #secondary

What a wild ride this post has been as people tell us that time doesn't exist but also it's been measured to have a negative number (something went out before it went in), but hey we all experience time differently anyway so what does it all matter, check out the clock to feel it in action. https://blog.mikeriversdale.co.nz/2026/05/more-investigations-into-time-its-very.html #time #science #culture #clock
