📦 New FeedEcho destination: GitHub. One user asked for it, so here it is. FeedEcho can now publish feed items as markdown files straight into a GitHub repo. Connect a repo with a fine-grained PAT, then set a file path template and body template per echo. Front matter renders like any other template text, so your feed's tags land in the file. Existing files update in place, never duplicated. Self-host or use the hosted version: https://github.com/jcrabapple/feedecho and https://feedecho.net #opensource #RSS #Mastodon

Do you want to write posts longer than 500 characters? Here's a list of good, reliable human-curated Mastodon servers with higher post limits: :Fediverse: https://fedi.garden/tag/larger-post-size As well as supporting longer posts, all of these servers are compatible with the seven points at https://fedi.garden/about-this-site #Mastodon

#3GoodThings #ThreeGoodThings Reflecting on how this little magic box gives me human contact, friendship, mutual interests. I don't know what I would do without you. I'd be very lonely otherwise because it's hard to find people in my area who have the same interests. #Mastodon As always, watching Super Password with Bert Convy (and various TV guests). #PlutoTV I mowed all the leaves in the entire yard as fast as I could before sunset. Damn daylight savings time changes. So stupid. #fall

Are you seeing bugs or design problems on the new web interface that mastodon.social is currently testing? You can give feedback directly to the Mastodon core developers on their new forum at: :Mastodon: https://community.joinmastodon.org If you post your comments in the forum, they are a lot more likely to have a direct effect on the new interface. #FediTips #Mastodon

To people from #Gaza and those supporting them: You’re invited to use #FediForGaza, for connection. If you’re from Gaza, it helps you connect with others, and reach support groups on the #Fediverse / #Mastodon. Replacing lists of recipients with #FediForGaza speaks to those who are listening, and it helps to avoid bans. If you want to support people and groups from Gaza, follow #FediForGaza. Whether you favorite posts, boost, or donate: Visible feedback confirms they are seen, and supports them.

In case you missed it, there is a REALLY easy way to see all the posts in a discussion thread:

  1. Go to the discussion thread
  2. Wait 5 - 10 seconds
  3. If there are any missing posts, an icon will appear saying "Show more posts", click on it
  4. After you click, it will automatically load all of the thread's posts no matter which server they were posted from

This means everyone on Mastodon can see identical discussion threads without having to look at other servers.

🗡️ #Introduction #presentation #Fediverse #Mastodon

:ablobcatnomcookie: It seems the #Mastodon update from yesterday has fixed the spam issue by overtaken accounts The first one I got about 1.5-2 weeks ago and since then we have suspended over ~2-3K accounts in total Spam accounts got an instant ban and others where frozen and waiting for response from the account owners A massive thank you to @RandamuMaki@mstdn.social, @Remittancegirl@mstdn.social & @bjn@mstdn.social for becoming part of the team and helping out big time! :ablobcatheartsqueeze:

In case you missed it, I have a website as well which lists interesting Fediverse accounts to follow organised into topics: ➡️ https://fedi.directory To follow an account in the directory, copy-paste its address into your search box on Mastodon etc, this will bring up its profile where you can click "follow". To find out more about an account in the directory, just click on its address and this will open its page on its home server. #Fediverse #Mastodon
