The current alt-right US government has gone after the support libraries give to everyone. I see them stepping up the fascism by trying to stop funding broadband for libraries and schools: https://action.ala.org/campaign/saveourerate And worse, a bill that will put the choice of books for kids in schools with lawmakers and not parents: https://action.ala.org/campaign/S4925 Please forward to US people who want to be involved in stopping this. The US government tries to drown people in disinformation, and libraries are one of the ways to help everyone fight this fairly and equally. Libraries will fight regardless, but, any travel is easier with companions. Do support them if you can. #USpol #USLibraries #ALA #fascism

#BookBans & attempted bans remain at record highs, acc/to the American #Library Association, & efforts to have titles removed have never been more coordinated or politicized. The #ALA on Monday issued its annual list of the #books most challenged at the country’s #libraries, part of the association’s State of America’s Libraries Report. #education #censorship #indoctrination #racism #misogyny #heterosexism #law #fascism #CultureWars #FarRight #extremism #Republicans
