#nowplaying

#nowplaying Cult of Luna - In the Shadow of Your Shadow Expectations are high. Let’s see how this goes.

#NowPlaying #FalsettoFriday #JukeboxFridayNight #ManyColours #DinoDesiAndBilly - "Through Spray Colored Glasses" (1969) One of my many (many, many) guilty pleasures are #psychedelic exploitation soundtracks, part of the wild and wooly #psychspoitation cash-grab that followed closely behind late 60s youth culture trends. This wonderful bit of cotton-candy is taken from the kaleidoscopic surf/world travel flick, Follow Me. The song is written by soundtrack composer #StuPhillips and a pre-#Bread #DavidGates, sung by OG Hollywood nepo babies Dino, Desi & Billy. I take solace in the notion that there are a few others out there who still find this irresistible as I do.

#NowPlaying #BandcampFriday Can’t go wrong with this funky North Indian kosmische exotica mashup from Ravens of Memory.

It's #bandcampFriday and I've finally paid money for a couple of albums that have been living rent free in my head for too long. Toyah - Sheep farming In Barnet (2020 remaster of the 1979 album). https://toyahofficial.bandcamp.com/album/sheep-farming-in-barnet-2020-remaster Felix - You Are The One I Pick (2009). https://felix-uk.bandcamp.com/album/you-are-the-one-i-pick I've loved both artists and albums for many years but only now as I type do I realise they were both debut albums! Stunning first works and magnificent from end to end! If you listen to just one track from each then I'd recommend Toyah's Our Movie and Felix's Back In Style. #NowPlaying #albumListener

Oh .... it's Friday already? I was about to post a slightly late #musicwomenwednesday but actually, this is my #protest for today #alternatefridaymusic Ani DiFranco - Not a pretty girl #nowplaying #fridayvibes

So many tracks from The Midnight would work for this #JukeboxFridayNight theme of #PeaceAndCalm, but I find this cover especially relaxing and beautiful: The Midnight - Because the Night (Feat. Nikki Flores) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oatqp_fWssY #nowplaying #music

#NowPlaying #JukeboxFridayNight turns to moments of #PeaceAndCalm#RichardLockwood - "Dawn Song of the Great Seven Hundred Years World Peace" (1993, released 2012) Richard (1943 - 2012) was singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist in the amazing 60s Australian psych/prog band #Tully. "Dawn Song" was one of the many devotional pieces he wrote that were inspired by the spiritual teachings of #AvatarMeherBaba. I was briefly in touch with Richard via email in the early 2000s; I remember letting him know how much I loved this one.

Talking of quality cover versions with plenty guitars ... Juliette Lewis - Hardly Wait #Music #NowPlaying #JukeboxFridayNight

Very risky to cover Prince, but Foo Fighters pull it off with style (and guitars) 🎶 🎸 Foo Fighters - Darling Nikki #Music #NowPlaying #JukeboxFridayNight

Everyone stop what you're doing and have a listen to this absolute CHOON Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings - Stranger to my Happiness #Music #NowPlaying #JukeboxFridayNight

Just the right amount of blissed out gorgeousness for a sunny morning 🎶 ❤️ Sigur Rós - Hoppípolla #Music #NowPlaying #JukeboxFridayNight
