Good morning! Today's small friend is… a hummingbird again! Look: if I get a good picture of a hummingbird, I post a good picture of a hummingbird. That's just how it is. #Pittsbirds #backyardbirding #birds #birdsofMastodon

Happy #Wrensday! #birds #BackyardBirding #nature This Northern House Wren has been chattering all summer and has done a marvelous job of avoiding being seen. I finally caught one of them at the neighbors gourd house.

I've been preoccupied lately. Our "baby" Swainson's Hawks are growing fast! Here's some video I took today: https://youtube.com/shorts/hPBhsPMoog8?si=RCVHvS3Mk1rLQah3 #birds #birdofPrey #hawks #swainsonsHawks #birdwatching #backyardbirding #babybirds #fledgling #nest #nestling #yyc #birdsOfAlberta

Today's small friend is a welcome returning species, but a new individual: a male red-bellied woodpecker. Photographed here in two styles: contemplative and mlem. #Pittsbirds #backyardbirding #birds #birdsofmastodon

Good morning! Today's small friends are a scruffy downy woodpecker, an extremely composed mourning dove, and a somewhat wet and disheveled bronzed grackle. #Pittsbirds #backyardbirding #birds #birdsofmastodon

Good morning! Today's small friends are American goldfinches, brought to you by the number 2 and the color yellow. 💛 These are some of my favorite visitors to my yard at the moment. #Pittsbirds #backyardbirding #birds #birdsofmastodon

If you are looking for a distraction, or just wholesome anecdotes derailing the entirety of our first bluebird experience, the thread is below. I hope to make a similar thread this year. Last year was a success, but very disjointed and poorly documented. https://vmst.io/@User47/112186500199386632 #EasternBluebird #BackyardBirding #KC #Missouri #NestWatch #EABL #Birding
